Our Team are experts in Pilates.
All of our teachers hold fully comprehensive qualifications in the full Pilates method, with a minimum study requirement of 450 hours. We are highly skilled in 1:1 teaching, and bring this to our small group classes.
We are Pilates Teachers first and foremost because we love Pilates – we have all found something transformative in our personal practices, which guides our passion for teaching it. We take class with each other, work out alone and together, and are constantly in pursuit of new ways to go deeper into our own practices.
We teach what we love and we do it really well.

Elaine Turner
Studio Owner | Pilates Teacher | Host Advisor
Elaine’s journey with Pilates began to manage low back pain, but it quickly transformed into a life-changing practice. She fell in love with the classical Pilates system and how it changed her relationship with her body, making her feel stronger, helping her feel more energised and introducing her to new friends.
Before transitioning to a career in Pilates, Elaine spent 30-plus years in corporate learning and development, latterly specialising as a personal development coach. This brings a unique approach to Elaine’s teaching.
Elaine has been a part of The Pilates Hub community since 2016, when she returned home to Edinburgh after a decade in the South of England. She was looking for a studio that had classical equipment where she could continue her own practice, and she found her answer in the Hub.
Elaine is both a graduate of the 950-hour Advanced Teacher Training programme from The Pilates Center Boulder and an Advisor for their training programmes. She also has a classical Mat qualification with Pi Studios, London and a Level 7 Coaching & Mentoring qualification with the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM).
Elaine has found that Pilates not only supports her body, but maybe even more importantly that it helps her deal with all the challenges that life brings. She describes it as being like a best friend, always there for you, never judging you and giving you what you need when you need it.
Elaine will listen, encourage, energise and challenge you through her teaching, as well as giving you a laugh.

Lorna Magee
Studio Owner | Pilates Teacher | Licensed Teacher Trainer
Lorna was first introduced to Pilates as a young dancer, which sparked a lifelong enthusiasm for the grace, athleticism, and inherent wisdom of what Joseph Pilates termed ‘Contrology’.
Lorna is originally from the USA, but after pursuing a degree in Economics and spending a couple of years teaching English in Madagascar, she landed in London and decided to return to her movement roots – completing the 950-hour Advanced Teacher Training Programme through The Pilates Center at Pepilates, London, in 2013.
Lorna became a Host Advisor for The Pilates Center’s Teacher Training Programs in 2014, completed The Pilates Center’s Master’s Program in 2018, and in 2019 became a Licensed Teacher Trainer for The Pilates Center worldwide.
Lorna and her partner relocated to Edinburgh in 2019, in pursuit of a bit more peace and quiet and better access to nature. The Pilates Hub was a big part of that move, in that Lorna had already found a home for her practice, when she walked into the Hub for her first class on a reconnaissance mission from London.
Lorna practices Pilates because it empowers her to love herself and her body. It is a transformative exercise system that she is grateful for every day. The workout that rehabilitated and reshaped her dancer body is now one that keeps her aligned, fit, centered and strong, in her new role as mother.
Lorna will meet you where you are, and her classes will help you explore your own personal potential through this incredible exercise system.
